Vvanilla wow heart of the wild9/20/2023 ![]() Don’t think I ever saw a 40 man with more than 3 of them though. They had a great group buff, mana battery and battle rez so they were needed. Basically it was impossible to screw up in a raid as a Shammy because all you had to do was keep your totems down.ĭruids are the oddballs. ![]() Normally each group had one so you can imagine what that was like. Horde side Priest was king but Shammy’s with their smart aoe heal were pretty godly. They didn’t even need to pester mages for water. Seriously I remember them spam healing nonstop all day. Once their crit is around 30% they just never run out of mana. That being said Priest is the best overall but for raw healing output it was Pali’s by far. So to me the top dog healers didn’t change. Last time I played WoW was close to 14 years ago (came back for classic) and the only end game at the time was MC and Ony. This is just raw healing skills - when factoring in blessings and totems in raids then utility easily pulls it’s own weight for the Paladin and the Shaman. Swift mend will be in the game though so there is that, plus HoTs…Imo, i think Druids just came into their own entirely in TBC healing wise and not so much in Vanilla. ![]() Shamans have more healing variety than the Paladin does but still is lacking compared to a Priest.ĭruids are more rounded out but they don’t have a flash heal equivalent, you will be using Healing touch rank 4 iirc a lot. With decent gear you will never go OOM though. The Paladin is essential for buffs and is a great tank healer, but they only have 3 heals, none of those are group heals either just single target. ![]() And the Priest is really good on mana, not as good as the Paladin but they have great regen rates… You get a flash heal, a HoT, a slow cast huge heal, a slightly faster casting large heal, a bubble, the only spammable group heal in the game. It has everything it needs, maybe even too much since some of the heals are redundant / irrelevant as you level up. The Priest is pretty much in a league of it’s own in Vanilla. ![]()
